A Pocket PC, abbreviated PPC, is a handheld-sized device which is run by a specific version
of the Windows CE operating system. In general software terms Pocket PC devices differ from
each other in versions of the Windows CE embedded in these devices. Therefore, Pocket PC devices
can be categorized by a specific version of the Windows CE.
On October 4, 2001 Microsoft released a new version of the Windows CE operating system code named
